Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Are your buttons washable?

A. Yes, all buttons can be washed and dry cleaned.

However, we do not advise repeated washing of the wooden buttons; they are a natural material and should be treated as such. Please use precaution when washing bright coloured buttons. It is best to turn the garment inside out and avoid extremely hot water.

Q. How large are the buttons?

A. The sizes of our buttons vary. We have tried to give an idea of the sizes with most packs.

Q. How many are there in the pack?

A. This varies; usually the picture will give you a good idea how many to expect.

Q. What material are the buttons made of?

A. Most are nylon. There are some polyester and some wooden buttons

Q. How do I attach your buttons to craft projects?

A. For Cross stitch, Tapestry, Quilting, Knitting or any sewing project, you can just sew them on. If the product that you have chosen is called ‘flatback’ then you will probably need our 2453 Button Shanks that can be glued on using a good fabric glue.

For Cards, Scrapbooks and other paper crafts, if you want to use regular buttons with shanks, first you will need to cut the shank off the back of the button, and then glue onto surface.

Q. How long does it take to get my order?

A. Most orders are shipped using Royal Mail. Orders to UK addresses are sent P&P Free and are usually  received within 2-3 days.

Shipping to other countries is by Air Mail. Costs are shown on our shipping page

Q.What if something I order is out of stock?

A. If this happens, we will ship a partial order and only bill you for what is actually shipped.

If the value of the ‘out of stock’ items exceeds £6, they will be back ordered; if not, they will be cancelled and you should re-order.

Q. What if I don't like to enter my credit card on the Internet?

A. Our site is 100% secure; you can tell from the yellow address bar at the top, with a little padlock, when you are asked for your credit card details. There will also be a little padlock either in the bottom right hand corner of the page, or in the address bar at the top.  However, you may call your order in to our order department at 01634 375706 or print our online order form and fax to 01634 263155.
